Sonsera Kiger, Board Member

Sonsera Kiger has spent thirteen years working in the non-profit sector, advocating for marginalized communities with her works in literacy and food insecurity. She has spent extensive time in Latin America and Europe, where she researched sustainable energy as a means to equitable development, which augmented her interest in how climate change influences access to nutrition. Sonsera has a BA in Spanish, with minors in International Relations and Women's Studies from UNC Asheville, and an MA from Wake Forest University, where she wrote her thesis on solar energy integration in the Chilean marketplace. She currently volunteers at a community garden and hopes to grow Middle of the Root's outreach footprint in the Triad.
Tera Wolff, Board Member
Tera is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Wellness Coach with over 20 years of experience in community and corporate health promotion. She is passionate about not only educating people on health and wellness topics but leveraging each individual’s strengths, motivators and values to evoke meaningful change. Tera is excited to support Middle of the Root’s mission to significantly impact the Winston-Salem community by providing access to healthy local food, as well as education and empowerment for healthier eating.
Ashley Jobe, Founder/President
Operations, Marketing & Brand
Marketer, designer, and advocate has found her passions happily mingling and is taking her systems thinking and creative approaches in business and marketing to a new level with Middle of the Root. Mindful of the holistic picture she wants to see her extensive research with farmers and consumers boost economic development and access to the foods our farmers produce, starting in her hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ashley holds her B.S. in Business and Marketing from High Point University and her MBA in Design Strategy from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
Ashley believes if we are thoughtful about our solutions we can inspire others and evolve as a society. She is dedicated to building better food systems; restoring balance in our communities and ensuring a better future for our people, our farmers and inevitably, our world.
